What Even is Recluse Rags?
If it's your first time visiting our page, well first of all, welcome!
Secondly, you're probably wondering what we're built around. What do we want and what do we stand for? If we're called Recluse Rags, do we just want to be left alone in a shady spot on a deserted island, eating poboys on freshly baked bread from a mysterious shipment that somehow keeps washing up on shore every day while a pleasant breeze washes over us? And also there's a dog there? Honestly, yeah, because we got lost while writing that and it was starting to sound pretty nice...
But that ain't real life, and the reality is that it's not about wanting to be alone all the time. We're not that kind of Recluse. In fact, most people are okay (usually).
To explain it, instead start by thinking about home, or honestly just some little place where you feel at home. For example, it could be your couch, and you're wrapped up on a rainy afternoon playing free-for-all. Or maybe a nice park on a perfect sunny day, having lunch and relaxing on the grass with a close friend (human or otherwise). It could even be out in your workshop, having an especially inventive (and exhausting) night on a wild new project. Or maybe, it's simply cozied up on the fluffiest chair you can find, just vibing with some coffee/tea/wine and a good book while you hide from the kids for a bit. Okay fine, sometimes it's about being a little bit alone. The point is that it's your place, and your time. Focus on that.
More importantly though, focus on how your favorite version of home makes you feel. That feeling of being somewhere and doing something because it's your choice in that moment, and not because someone else chose it for you. That's what we want. We want to feel incredibly comfortable, confident, and just able to be ourselves even if it means looking slightly goofy to passersby in the process.
Put another way, we want to achieve that Jaunty Man state of mind, that unshakable confidence and weird-positive energy that can only come from feeling right at home. And we want to be able to carry that feeling with us anywhere.
So, hopefully that makes at least some amount of sense. We just want to feel as comfortable going out about our day as we do when we're off-duty and just vibing around the house. Because even the DMV feels better when you're able to carry that kind of energy around.
